Ultimate Frisbee Association

Ultimate Frisbee Association (UFA) is an up-and-coming sports association registered in September 2024 dedicated to introducing and developing ultimate frisbee in the Maldives. As an organization, we aim to provide opportunities for players of all skill levels to engage in competitive and recreational play. Through our events, we strive to build sportsmanship, teamwork, and inclusivity among participants, while also introducing more people to the dynamic and fast-paced world of ultimate frisbee.

As a group, we started playing ultimate frisbee in Male’ City in 2019 with just 10 players. Today, there are over 200 active players and 50+ registered members of the association across Male’ City and Fuvahmulah City. On 24 January 2025, UFA successfully concluded the first ever ultimate frisbee tournament in the history of Maldives. Currently, UFA is working closely with the World Flying Disc Federation to obtain national membership.

UFA is committed to fostering the growth and development of ultimate frisbee across the country. Our primary goals include increasing awareness and participation in the sport, and building a strong community of players and enthusiasts. We aim to establish ultimate frisbee as a recognized and celebrated sport nationwide through events, workshops, and competitive tournaments, while also collaborating with international organizations to further elevate the sport in the country.
