What is Ultimate Frisbee?

Ultimate frisbee, often called “ultimate” is a non-contact, self-refereed team sport played with a flying disc. Combining the fast pace of soccer, the strategy of basketball and the passing tactics of football, it emphasises teamwork and sportsmanship.

The sport relies on the Spirit of the Game, which places responsibility for fair play on every player. There are no referees; the players are solely responsible for following and enforcing the rules, even at the World Championship. Competitive play is encouraged, but never at the expense of respect between players, adherence to the rules, and the basic joy of play.

As one of the fastest growing sports globally, ultimate frisbee has made its mark across continents, bringing together a diverse community of players from different cultures and backgrounds. The sport's ethos of inclusivity and fair play accessibility has earned it a dedicated following, and its popularity shows no signs of slowing down. As frisbee continues to evolve, it remains a testament to the power of sport to unite and uplift, embodying the true spirit of friendly competition and mutual respect.
